Zac Henderson

Aeonic Chroma is an ongoing series of photographs depicting strikingly colorful sediments. I view these vibrant striations as literal representations of natural geological history painted on the Earth's crust as though with a brush. Viewed in this way, the echos of cataclysmic volcanic events tens of millions of years old may be viewed as a splashes of red, stripes of blue, or layers of yellow. Photographing these colorful hills is my recognition of and engagement with the ancient Earth.
