About "Deva": When I was fighting the wrongful conviction that separated me from my family for 14 years, I realized I was alien to all ways of thinking in prison. There were many women there who enjoyed antagonizing others. There were women who had given up hope and felt no one else should be permitted it.

I created "Deva" to visualize the idea of being protected, of knowing there was an energy that had love and warmth I could turn to.
