Rarely seen before in a photograph - an over/underwater scene shot at night with the Milky Way rising overhead. Three Worlds is the result of my obsessive passion to successfully pull a shot like this off. It’s based on an idea I had back in 2017, and I’ve been inching towards making that a reality ever since.

This shot took around 40 minutes to shoot, which isn’t unheard of in the astrophotography world, but so many things are required to fall into place to be able to pull a shot like this off - you not only need a perfect night sky, & a favorable location, but timing with the tides can also be tricky. The other challenge is lighting your underwater scene, as natural light diminishes considerably once it passes through water especially at night. And then there’s also the technique of focus stacking to get a sharp image from your foreground right through to the background, & I’m shooting multiple shots each focus step for stacking to help with image quality and noise reduction.
