In 2019, I took two weeks off to travel across Central and Eastern Europe and got to visit Budapest for a couple of days with a very dear friend of mine who I hadn’t seen for a year since we both graduated from university. The experiences we had in this beautiful and fascinating city will be ones I cherish forever, from the amazing meals to late-night fun at the ruin bars, to very early sunrise photography missions.
This three-piece series is dedicated and is named for the three cities, Buda, Óbuda, and Pest, which united in 1873 to form Budapest. With this photograph being one of my favourite moments as a travel photographer to date, spending that evening with my friend watching the lights on the Hungarian Parliament Building come on and appreciating symmetrical beauty at its finest, it seemed fitting to devote this photograph into a series, using three different styles, techniques and artistry that I have developed over the years as my personal love letter to this great city.
