Evan McQuaid Bedford photographed by Brett Cody Rogers in Los Angeles, California, USA
Evan McQuaid Bedford is a Los Angeles based photographer and a friend of mine for over 20 years. His work often has a deadpan sense of humor and staged graphic wit about it. I wanted to portray him in a classic way, and spoke to our evolution as NFT artists at the same time. Referencing both Van Goghs self-portraits, and Man Ray’s Tanya Ramn (superposition de 2 visages), Evans multiple eyes and faces speak to our need as humans to expand our capacity to absorb visual information and increase our ability to pay attention to multiple streams of communication as Blockchain Technology rapidly evolves. In Oct. 2021 Evan created an NFT collection of 100 photographs called Hundo Cubanos, a body of photographic work made in 2015 as Cuba was on the verge of immense change and in an extraordinary spot between old and new.
