Happy to share my new 1/1 “ AURORAS FALLS” a broken dream. A beautiful story of Night, broken lens & Patience… Let me tell you a story behind this magical piece and why I call It "A BROKEN DREAM".

I went to Iceland in sep 2022 and Kirkjufell is most iconic mountain. In despite of many visits, I always failed to get the auroras over this mountain, over the years it became my dream and biggest desire
To shoot the auroras over it.

It took me 6 years and 5 visits to get the desired one. I had few chances but wasn’t extraordinary so, something was missing and that empty feeling pushed me to get the one that I wanted, sometime in life you manifest at lot and it happens only at right time and right moment.

When we reached to this location, Iceland govt announced the one of the biggest storm and warned to stay inside. I was stubborn to go out in that windy night to shoot some auroras over it. It was clear night and auroras level was good so i didn’t want to miss the chance to see my green lady.

Initially, it was really challenging to reach to the spot as winds were so harsh and I was almost flying away. Somehow I struggled and was able to find the spot where winds were not too harsh but it was real challenge to get the hold on the tripod to get one perfect shot.

I waited for years to get the beautiful auroras & that night it was magical. After few minutes of wait the green lady appeared in the sky. I wanted to capture the essence of Kirkjufell with waterfall so I went down to shoot at lower level. It was my most desired shot and long awaited one.

I was so happy to capture it and got my dream shot with a shooting STAR. But, destiny planned something else for me in upcoming days. Why I call it “BROKEN DREAM” because 2 days later I broke my lens due to winds and storm. My camera fell with the tripod and lens broke into two pieces.I was so disappointed and devastated that my main lens was gone in the middle of the trip.

I posted about it later on twitter and whole NFT family came up to help me or find a solution but it was too late and lens was completely gone. So, this photo is kind of tribute to my “ TAMRON 15-30” and rare few last images from that lens.
