Title: The water-carrier of Marrakech, Morocco
Location: Jemaa El Fna, Marrakech, Morocco
The water-carrier or guerrab in Morocco is a very ancient profession. The water is kept fresh in the guerba made of goatskin decorated with ancient coins.
The guerrab is wearing a traditional red costume, with copper cups and a multicolor hat. He rings a bell when he arrives in a market.
With the development of bottled and running water, the profession is slowly disappearing.
They are certainly one of the symbol of Morocco!
