My silent period in Morocco. I lived a couple of minutes away from here. I rented an apartment just for myself in the area where only locals live. They used to examine me every time I walked around. Landlord was super nice. They brought me couscous every Friday, pita bread once and some fish when they celebrated something. They did my laundry when I politely asked them and we never spoke other than that. They must have thought I am crazy. I walked around without a word, ate bread and a fig jam, and paced quietly around my apartment long into the night. I used to sit on top of this little dune and watch people. Sometimes people watched me...quite scarily. I wished it wasn't so windy. I wished the ocean next to where I lived was more inviting. Instead, the rocks and the coldness of it held me from diving in successfully.
