Mount Aspiring:
As we flew past Tititea / Mount Aspiring, gazing in absolute awe as the sun struck the peaks of this incredible mountain, I couldn't help but think of the name it had been given by New Zealand Maori all those years ago ... Tititea. Tititea means 'Glistening Peak' and I can only imagine what a sight this must have been pre colonial Aotearoa, where ancient forests covered the land and giant mountains stood above them. How incredible it was for me to see this glistening peak in parallel vision, as if I could reach out and touch it as the sun rose .. this moment, photograph and memory I will treasure for a lifetime.

The Edit:
Watching the moon rise over the mountain is a dream for many. Seeing Rach’s Mount Aspiring photo inspired me to create this piece. A scene where the sun kissed mountain peaks stood over the clouds and a full moon floated directly above lighting up the dark blue horizon.
