IMUGI is an imaginary creature between a snake & a dragon in Korean mythology. IMUGI waits 1000 years in the lake to become a dragon.

2024 is a Green Wood(or Blue) Dragon's year in Chinese zodiac. I wanted to create this piece for New Year. It has wishes to become a dragon this year, a metaphor for the final goal you manifested for a long time.

The visual design is inspired by the transformation story of IMUGI. It is about to be awaken from 1000 years of hibernation to fly as a dragon this year.

It is also inspired from the legend sculptor, Pygmalion`s story where he sees an ideal beauty just from a unpolished stone. All gems have potentials to be a master piece if we see a dragon from IMUGI which is a state of being work in progress.

The IMUGI holds the warm red light inside which is connection to its inner vision of dragon. The hint of color is inspired by Redthread legend where it connects all we destined to meet in life. 2024 is the year your beautiful vision becomes alive.
