Shot in the streets of Bangkok.
As they played cards, Lucy noticed that Jake was not paying attention. His eyes wandered, and he fidgeted with the cards in his hand. It was clear that his mind was elsewhere.
Lucy tried to engage him in conversation, asking him about his day and his thoughts on the game. However, he responded with short, distracted answers, barely acknowledging her presence.
She couldn't help but feel hurt and frustrated. They had always enjoyed playing cards together, and it was clear that something was bothering him. She wondered if it was something she had said or done.
Finally, she couldn't take it any longer. "Jake, what's going on? You seem distracted," she said, concern in her voice.
He looked up, seeming surprised to realize that he had been absentminded. "Sorry, Lucy. I have a lot on my mind," he said, still sounding distant.
Lucy took a deep breath, trying to remain calm. She knew that it wasn't her fault, but she couldn't help feeling hurt by his lack of attention. "Is there anything I can do to help?" she asked, her voice softening.
Jake shook his head. "It's just work stuff. I'm worried about a project deadline," he said, still seeming preoccupied.
Lucy listened, trying to offer words of support and reassurance. She hoped that he would eventually open up and share more with her.
As they played on, Jake's distraction continued. Lucy tried to focus on the game, but her mind was elsewhere. She couldn't help but wonder what was going on in her husband's mind and how she could help him.
