METAGRAPH ANIMATION #16 // This piece is based on the eponymous 1999 vector-based digital drawing. “Circuit” was originally drawn in Manhattan’s East Village in in 1999, and is an early example from my Metagraph series of digital drawings, works inspired in part by the “automatic drawings” of the Surrealists. The piece was drawn on a Wacom tablet in Illustrator 8 on a PowerMac 8600. It was reborn on the blockchain 23 years later. The motion graphics were developed in Adobe Animate and the original soundscape was composed in Premiere from audio samples arranged in a stream-of-consciousness style pastiche.
