“Macondo Forever” is a tribute to Colombian writer Gabriel García Márquez and Magical Realism. The writer is hugging his book “100 years of solitude” while some yellow butterflies are coming out of the book. For some the butterflies symbolize hope but from others it symbolizes that something bad can happen.

This duality of emotions portrayed in the yellow butterflies is part of the daily lives of Latin Americans. The writer here is saluting magical realism in the same way Black Panther salutes his people of Wakanda. “Macondo Forever” is actually a meme on twitter to explain the surreal and incredible things that have no logical explanation but happen all across Colombia and Latin America.
