This image was designed to capture a phenomena called 'Dark Shot Noise.' It was taken in a completely dark room with the camera config noted below.
DSN: Even when the DSLR camera sensor is exposed to no light at all, thermally generated electrons still affect the highly sensitive pixels of the sensor--especially at longer exposure times. This effect is referred to as dark shot noise.
When looking at this image without magnification, it appears purple, the color being comprised of varying instances of RGB across the Sony a7R IV 61-megapixel sensor. Looking with higher magnification, however, this image may offer much more interest.
Config:**
Body: Sony a7R IV
Lens: Sony 50mm f1.2 GM
F-Stop: f/16
SS: 30"
ISO: 12800
Lens Cap: ON
**The camera settings noted above, with exception of the SS and the lens being on, are just for your enjoyment.
