Daniel in the Lion's Den
A commission piece created for 17Mile's personal collection and for physical production.
Daniel sits calmly in the Lion's Den, with hidden symbolism referencing the biblical story yet in the Artist's now recognizable existential surrealism style.
Symbolism:
The Arabic above the archway in the back of the cave reads "Darius" in Persian, for King Darius, who's cave this belonged to.
Daniel has VI = 6. "Daniel 6:"
Right to left, as Arabic is read, are other number references.
XII, XVI and XXII = 12, 16, 22
Daniel 6:12, Daniel 6:16, Daniel 6:22
Daniel 6:22:
"My God sent His angel and shut the lions' mouths, so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent before Him; and also, O king, I have done no wrong before you."
