Twice a day, in the opposite side to the sunrise or sunset, the sky glows beautifully pink from the reflected light of the sun above the blue of the earths shaddow, and is known as the Belt of Venus.
In this image, looking West along Australia's Southern Coastline near the South Australia/Western Australia border, the Belt is above the coastal scarp before the sunrise. The blue of the earths shadow is gradually replaced by the reflected light from the sun way below the horizon.
Taking attempt after attempt to find the right shutter speed, and then, the right amount of camera movement, this photograph was made in such a way as to imitate the artists paintbrush, and yet still capture the scene.
Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) involves the movement of the camera at a specific speed and/or direction during the operation of the shutter, resulting in a blurred image that still contains detail and a story of what it is about, and what it contains.
This image contains no AI or Photoshop effects.
