Description

My Interpretation of Xihe, a Chinese Solar Goddess.

Xihe was one of the two wives of Emperor Jun (along with Changxi). She was the mother of 10 suns, with the appearance of three-legged crows. Every day, one of his children rose into the sky to shine his light on the world. Xihe was also known to move with her sons thanks to a kind of chariot. But one day, all ten suns rose into the sky at the same time, causing the world to burn.

An heroic archer named Hou Yi decided to shoot nine of Xihe's sons, leaving only one of her solar sons alive. Destined to light up the world every day, without his brothers to take his place, the sun in the sky is none other than the last remaining son of Xihe.
