In this motion art I wanted to reflect 80's scifi anime style.

I was inspired by one of my all-time favorite 1982 short sci-fi anime series "Space Adventure Cobra" and a beautiful bounty hunter/space pirate in it who is :

"Jane Royal" ジェーン・ロイヤル.

She is one of the three sisters who have hard-coded hidden treasure map in the "Butterfly" tattoos they have on their backs. When three of them overlayed together the map is revealed.

The Design Process :

● I created 4000x4000 pixels 300 DPI high resolution %100 hand-drawn illustration.


● Illustrated and animated The Blue Butterfly Tattoo manually by drawing 20 frames.


● Applied various gradient map to catch the color scheme that reflects 80's sci-fi anime style.


● Added several layers of motions to catch the nostalgic & also 80's retro sci-fi feel.


● Set up a 3D parallax effects all together to create an effect of depth

I'll provide the original illustration to the collector.
