In this collection, I have intended to create a link between the past and present. The
presence of women in these frames is an innocent hint from the ruthless past that its
sufferings have remained up until now; a “bitter” story that has been disguised
beautifully.
Metallic door knockers are the entrances of the story; objects made of iron, cut by a
craftsman, and screwed over wooden doors. These objects appear in two forms on the
doors, revealing the gender of the individual to the householder by making treble or
bass sounds.
If the door knocker was round and the sound was treble, it is a woman; if the door
knocker was big and sound was bass, it is a man. This invisible border reveals itself by
the sound of the door knockers.
