For over five years, I've chased the North American Monsoon in pursuit of sunset storms like this. On July 19th, 2021, I witnessed a rare low precipitation (LP) supercell move off the Santa Rita Mountains near Amado, Arizona and slowly drift over the Santa Cruz River. Positioning on this storm required me to find a view with unobstructed views. I finally found this view overlooking the riverbed as the storm drifted to the west and died out, but not before dropping bolt after delicious bolt in the remaining sunset light.
