This painting is based on two things- and Bob Dylan.
The reference image is a photo my husband took of me when we first moved to Paris. Looking out on a goal met, and a world of opportunity there was hope and also trepidation another tragedy might come. While I spent that year worried and mentally planning for the worst I unintentionally allowed my trauma to continue without letting any healing to accompany it.
And here we are a year later, and things we could never have planned hit us and eclipsed both the sun and moon- and yet life goes on and you continue to grow up despite feeling like a lost child and you learn it is your own choices, and not your intention, that allows you dignity in life. But It's Alright, Ma, I'm Only Bleeding.
