After the nightly visit to Cafe Pripyat, at sunrise, I went to the former excursion boat at the harbor behind it. The ravages of time and the current have already taken a toll on the boat. I walk through the tall grass on the bank and enjoy this idyll until my Geiger counter brings me back to reality and warns me of high radiation.
What a strange place the exclusion zone is. So beautiful but the invisible danger still lurks here.
